Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions are for normal road use of all the hire cars. Terms and conditions however are subject to change at any time so please read them carefully.
General
The cost of the hire paid by the customer to Rothmere Classics Ltd includes VAT where applicable. All hire cars are covered by fully comprehensive insurance for the named hirers.
A 40% deposit is required on all bookings.
Breakdown cover is supplied with all hire cars.
The hire cars can cover unlimited mileage during the hire period, but only in the UK. If overseas use is required for the car please ask for details.
Please note that the AC Cobra drivers seat is in a fixed position and people under 5ft 6 ins may have difficulties reaching the pedals.
Gift Vouchers are non refundable.
Insurance
The fully comprehensive insurance will only cover persons:
• Aged 25-75 holders of valid British driving licences for more than 2 years (overseas licences accepted subject to separate conditions)
• Have no more than 2 active speeding offences
• Have no convictions for drink drug, dangerous or careless driving in the past 5 years.
Drivers over the age of 75 maybe able to be insured but it does come at an extra cost if it is possible.
Hirer
• The hirer must complete a car hire form.
• Identification in the form of a passport plus utility bill must be provided by the hirer and also by any additional driver
• A £15 premium per day will also be required for extra drivers.
The person enquiring to hire a car may be refused hire if:-
• They have been involved in more than one accident in the past three years when they were at fault
• They have beer refused insurance for any form of motor vehicle for any reason what so ever
General use
When the car is on hire if at any time you are uncomfortable with the running of the hire car, stop driving the hire car in a safe place and phone our office number for advice on any problems you are not sure about. The cars on hire are maintained to the highest standard mechanically possible. Therefore there should be no problems with the running of the hire cars but they are classics and have to be treated with care more so than modern cars.
All deposits and insurance excesses have to be covered before the hire of the cars but will be refunded at the satisfactory return of the hire cars. If any damage is incurred during the hire period, the insurance excess is at risk but will be dealt with in the most sensible way possible and at our own discretion. Late cancellations will lead to the full loss of deposit.
Pets are welcome to travel in hire cars. Smoking is prohibited in any hire car. Hire periods are left to the discretion of ourselves and the hirer so no outings are compromised however, any late returns or damaged vehicles which jeopardise other customers hire period will lead to partial or total loss of withheld monies. In the case of this happening the next hirer of the said car will be contacted by ourselves and alternative arrangements will be organised to the best of our capabilities.
Declaration and Statement of Liability
I acknowledge that during the currency of this rental agreement I shall be liable as the owner of the car in respect of any fixed penalty offence or contravention committed in respect of that vehicle under part III of the transport acts 1982 and excess parking charges which may be incurred in respect of that vehicle in pursuance of an order under section 45 and 46 of the road traffic regulation act 1984.
